Rollin’ With the Oggies: A Conversation on Hope, Faith, and Giving Forward

December 25, 2025

If anyone would be forgiven for feeling defeated, it would be Nathan and Heather Ogden. Instead, they chose something else. Twenty-four years ago, a tragic ski accident left Nathan paralyzed. Thirteen months later, while hospitalized with pneumonia, a fall from a gurney erased the progress he had fought so hard to regain. What followed could have been a story defined by grief and limitation—but the Ogdens refused that ending. Guided by faith, anchored by family, and sustained by hope, Nathan and Heather transformed their pain into purpose. What began in despair has become Chair the Hope—a global effort providing wheelchairs to people around the world, restoring dignity, mobility, and possibility. This interview is a reminder that purpose often reveals itself through hardship, and that service can be born from the deepest wounds. It is a story about faith lived quietly and consistently, about choosing hope again and again, and about what happens when we lift others along the way.
