The Beauty of Being Seen: Amanda Martinez on Love, Movement, and Belonging

October 19, 2026

Sometimes, finding your purpose begins with the smallest suggestion. For Amanda Martinez, it was a friend’s invitation to try yoga that changed the course of her life.

Rooted in her Latina heritage and Texas upbringing, Amanda moved to Los Angeles at 25 to pursue a career in makeup artistry. What she discovered instead was a calling to help others feel seen, connected, and empowered through movement.

Today, Amanda is a movement facilitator at The Class in Los Angeles and Co-Executive Director of My Comunidad, a community-driven wellness organization bringing accessible yoga, mindfulness, and somatic practices to underserved BIPOC communities. Having experienced what it means to feel underrepresented in the wellness world, Amanda is helping create the very spaces of belonging she once wished existed.

In this heartfelt conversation, Amanda shares her unexpected path to purpose, the importance of representation, and her belief that healing begins when people feel truly seen. Her story is a reminder that leading with love can create ripples of change far beyond ourselves.
