Cas Mastrapaolo’s earliest memories are of hunger, abandonment, and the brutal reality of Haiti’s child slave labor trade. Orphaned at just three years old, he endured years of hardship before a missionary noticed his bright smile and placed him in an orphanage. Eventually adopted by a loving family in Ohio, Cas discovered he was hard of hearing but never let it dim his spirit. He went on to play football at Gallaudet University, a school for the deaf and hard of hearing, and today he advocates for those navigating similar challenges. Cas’s story is not just one of survival—it’s one of resilience, gratitude, and shining light in the world.
